“Printed in a dyslexia-friendly font and beautifully illustrated (by Jonathan) with bright, cheerful drawings, ROBBY THE DYSLEXIC TAXI is a wonderfully engaging demonstration of how a disability can be overcome using creative approaches. Robby may have trouble using mental tools in conventional ways, but he uses his unique strengths to find an unconventional—and even more effective—solution. It’s a terrific lesson for kids with dyslexia, who frequently find themselves stymied by everyday tasks simply because traditional ways of doing things don’t work well for them.

“Children with dyslexia can quickly develop a negative self-image when there is so much focus on what they struggle to do. In Robby the Dyslexic Taxi, however, the story revolves around unique skills and abilities instead, reframing disability as a positive difference and allowing dyslexic readers to see themselves in a new light.”

“This book is a sweet short read. Robby the Taxi is surrounded by supportive friends that understand he can succeed at anything if he has support. Because he has been shown support and figured out ways to achieve his goals in the past, he is able to be successful even when he faces an unknown route. My favorite part is that when faced with an unknown route Robby did get scared. That is normal. He didn’t let his fear freeze his though. That is bravery. He trusted that he could figure it out and he did.”
